Case Study: Successful Application of a Novel Gas Lift Valve in Low Pressure Wells in Fuling Shale Gas Field

نویسندگان

چکیده

The Fuling shale gas field is facing a rapid production decline due to heavy liquid loading issues. Given the condition that most wells are located at remote areas in mountains, traditional lift methods require either fixed compressor or skid-mounted trucks do not seem feasible and occur high operation costs. A new type of valve can be opened closed low dome pressure indicates sensitivity pressure. Thus, piping line utilized activate its advantages. In addition, specially designed structure activated via increases tubing create channel between annulus. previously functioned as dummy was then switched valve. Field application results show all were successfully restarted by only utilizing pressure, loaded lifted with an incremental rate reached up 27.4 × 10 kscm/d per well. Fewer slickline operations conducted replace result shows system has wide range prospect for wells, especially wells.

Developing a Novel Temperature Model in Gas Lifted Wells to Enhance the Gas Lift Design

In the continuous gas lift operation, compressed gas is injected into the lower section of tubing through annulus. The produced liquid flow rate is a function of gas injection rate and injection depth. All the equations to determine depth of injection assumes constant density for gas based on an average temperature of surface and bottomhole that decreases the accuracy of gas lift design. Also g...

Installing Plunger Lift Systems In Gas Wells

In mature gas wells, the accumulation of fluids in the well can impede and sometimes halt gas production. Gas flow is maintained by removing accumulated fluids through the use of a beam pump or remedial treatments, such as swabbing, soaping, or venting the well to atmospheric pressure (referred to as “blowing down” the well). Fluid removal operations, particularly well blowdowns, may result in ...

Increased stray gas abundance in a subset of drinking water wells near Marcellus shale gas extraction.

Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing are transforming energy production, but their potential environmental effects remain controversial. We analyzed 141 drinking water wells across the Appalachian Plateaus physiographic province of northeastern Pennsylvania, examining natural gas concentrations and isotopic signatures with proximity to shale gas wells. Methane was detected in 82% of dri...

Organic compounds in produced waters from shale gas wells.

A detailed analysis is reported of the organic composition of produced water samples from typical shale gas wells in the Marcellus (PA), Eagle Ford (TX), and Barnett (NM) formations. The quality of shale gas produced (and frac flowback) waters is a current environmental concern and disposal problem for producers. Re-use of produced water for hydraulic fracturing is being encouraged; however, kn...
